Download surround music
Here you can download surround music created by upmixing stereo recordings using Surround Engine. All music is free of copyright and contains a link () to the source on the Internet. In the download table below, you can listen to the original stereo MP3 file by pressing the play () button. For each track, you can download () a 5.1 channel and 7.1 channel surround version in the FLAC file format. Surround music playback
The surround versions were created using unmodified 2-0 to 5-1 (vocal) and 2-0 to 7-1 (vocal) sample upmixing profiles included with Surround Engine. They are not optimized for any particular setup, equipment or taste. For bass management, it is assumed that the crossover frequency of each loudspeaker is 100 Hz. Playing the FLAC files is best done without any DSP processing by your surround sound system (this is often referred to as pure, pure direct, or straight sound mode).
MP3 is a lossy file format that can cause noticeable distortions (known as compression artifacts). In addition, some MP3 source files (unfortunately) contain clipping distortions. Keep this in mind when listening to the surround versions. If you have (links to) high quality lossless music that we are (legally) allowed to use, please let us know.
