Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” in Surround Sound!

Hey Surround Sound Enthusiasts!

I want to start a series of posts about music that gives me goosebumps when I listen to it in surround sound. Unfortunately, I can’t post real surround music so a simple description will have to suffice.

It was a no-brainer to start the first post in this series with Pink Floyd. When it comes to immersing yourself in a music experience, nothing beats listening to Pink Floyd’s iconic album “The Wall” in surround sound. The album contains intricate soundscapes and layered instrumentation. From delicate acoustic guitars to thunderous drums and crashing guitars. There are countless nuances and details to be discovered when you listen to the album with 5.1 or 7.1 channels. Listening in surround sound brings new depth and richness to this already incredible album. Whether you’re a die-hard Pink Floyd fan or simply appreciate great music, this is an album that deserves to be heard in multichannel glory.

In this case, I played a lossless (2-channel stereo) FLAC recording of “The Wall” in 5.1 channel surround on a home theater system using Surround Engine.
